What items does the Baggage Loss benefit cover?

The Baggage Loss benefit provides reimbursement for lost, stolen, and damaged luggage and personal effects while on a covered trip. These items can be owned, borrowed, or rented, and commonly include luggage, clothing, footwear and jewelry. Tin Leg also provides reimbursement for the fees associated with the replacement of a lost or stolen passport, as well as charges and interest incurred by unauthorized use of lost or stolen credit cards during a covered trip.

Under this benefit, Tin Leg’s Economy, Standard, and Luxury policies will reimburse up to $500 per person and $100 per item.

Some exclusions apply to the Baggage Loss benefit, including: animals, eyewear, money, tickets, art objects, musical instruments, medicines, telephones, and computers.

The Baggage Loss benefit is secondary to any coverage provided by a common carrier or credit card companies. In the event of a Baggage Loss claim, please notify Tin Leg as soon as reasonably possible, and take the available necessary steps to protect, save or recover your items. If a robbery or theft has occurred, please notify the police or other local authorities and file an official report within 24 hours of your knowledge of the event.
