On Friday, January 15, 2016, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention issued a Zika virus Travel Health Notice Level 2, Practice Enhanced Precautions, for Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, and South America.
What you need to know about your policy:
Despite the outbreak, Tin Leg policies still offer Emergency Medical and Medical Evacuation benefits for travelers who become infected with the Zika virus while on a covered trip.
Tin Leg does not exclude any declared pandemics or epidemics, as such, coverage will remain available as long as a policy is purchased before the traveler contracts the virus.
Travelers who purchase a policy may have coverage for the following benefits if they become infected by the Zika virus.

- Coverage for medical expenses if travelers become infected with the Zika virus while traveling
- Medical Evacuation:
- Coverage for medical evacuation if you must be transferred due to infection of the Zika virus.
